Today St. Hilary’s Magazine Launches the “Education Action Africa” Project. The objectives of the project are:
- Encourage the education of the African child through the media towards the eradication of illiteracy in Africa.
- Engage the various African governments on their actions on education
- Monitor African governments’ education policies and their implementation in Africa
- Collaborate with other organizations working towards the eradication of illiteracy on the continent of Africa.
Illiteracy is endemic in Africa and is a major cause of poverty on the continent. For us to be able to wipe out poverty in Africa, we need to eradicate illiteracy.
Illiteracy is a disease and it is hydra headed. Illiteracy comes with a lot of social issues as poverty, crime, poor health and so on. We seize this opportunity to invite all Africans – journalists and non journalists – to join our network of curators/ soldiers fighting for the eradication of illiteracy in Africa. Do get in touch with us on: firstname.lastname@example.org to be a part of our network.
Together we can get rid of illiteracy in Africa!
We launch this project because we believe that with the media, we can encourage people to acquire education, engage various African governments on their work on education, push for eradication of illiteracy in Africa and hold our various governments accountable.
